Rev. Anthony L. Willis, Sr. is Senior Pastor of the Greater Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in the great city of Jacksonville, Florida. He answered the call to the ministry in 1986 and has been preaching the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ for the past 30 years. God called him to pastor and shepherd the Greater Beulah Missionary Baptist Church on the first Sunday in April 1996, and he has now pastored this church for the past 22 years. He was employed with the City of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) for 27 years. When he realized God was calling him to a greater work, he trusted and followed the voice of God, and in 2002 he retired to full-time ministry at the Greater Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. He had to be obedient to the will of God for his life.
Pastor Willis is a native of Jacksonville and believes in giving back to his local community and church community. He is a graduate of William M. Raines High School, attended Jones Business College of Jacksonville, attended Luther Rice Seminary, Lithonia, Georgia, and attended and graduated from the Jacksonville Baptist Theological Seminary of Jacksonville with an Associate of Religious Education Degree and a Bachelor of Theology Degree. He has served as the Dean of Christian Education for the East Florida and Bethany Baptist Association, and currently serves as 2nd Vice Moderator of that association. He also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Family Development Ministry and Secretary/ Treasurer of the Home Missions Ministry with the Progressive Missionary and Education Baptist State Convention of Florida.
He leads his church in missionary work with many community agencies, including the American Red Cross, The Sulzbacher Center, Trinity Mission, The Bridge of Jacksonville, The Jacksonville Blood Alliance and the Salvation Army. Pastor Willis loves God's people and takes very seriously his call to work on the mission field for the Lord, and he strives to ensure that the Beulah M.B. Church lives out its theme: " A Church that Reaches Up to God and Out to Man."
Pastor Willis is married to Dr. Patricia S. Willis, his wife of 39 years. Dr. Willis has retired from 35 years of service to the school system to partner in full time ministry with her husband. Most recently, they launched Beulahland Christian Academy on the campus of the church. Pastor Willis is the loving father of three, 2 sons Anthony and Minister Rashard, and one daughter, Danielle. He is the proud grandfather of eight, 2 boys and 6 girls.
Pastor Willis dedicates his life to the Cause of Christ and the work of the Kingdom of God, and he stands on the declaration of Joshua 24:15 which states, "... But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. "
